Today on Patreon
$2,250/mo= $27,000/year
Patreon takes ~$250/month (10% effective + processing). That’s the ceiling without migration.
Year 1
$275/mo
$3,300/year
Year 3

$5,535/year
Year 5

5-year cumulative lift on DOLLA+$-98,579
Total dollars over 5 years vs staying on Patreon. The 0% creator fee compounds — every patron who migrates contributes the full $1 they pay, every month, no platform skim.
How the migration math works
- Patreon baseline: today’s monthly revenue at 10% effective take rate (midpoint of Patreon Pro’s 8–12% range) plus typical Stripe processing. The Patreon side stays flat — most creators stop actively growing it once they announce a migration.
- Migration curve: the calculator assumes 60% of total migration completes in year 1 and the remainder by year 2. Realistic ranges from real creator migrations are 30–60% of patrons total — the calculator’s default of 50% sits at the median.
- Native DOLLA growth: new followers acquired through DOLLA’s Discover algorithm, Trending feed, and Mint mechanic compound at the rate you set (default 30%/year). This rate is conservative for early-cohort creators who lock in algorithm-rank advantage; aggressive for creators who don’t cross-promote.
- Unit price assumption: the calculator assumes 100% of DOLLA followers are on the Monthly tier ($1/mo). In practice ~10% typically upgrade to the Weekly tier ($1/wk = $4.33/mo), which would lift the numbers further. The model under-states the lift, not over-states it.
- 5-year cumulative lift: total dollars staying with the creator over 5 years vs continuing on Patreon. This is the number that matters most — the take-rate difference compounds, and at year 5 the cumulative lift is usually 3-8x the year-1 lift alone.
