10050,000

Share of audience on the Weekly Page ($1/wk ≈ $4.33/mo).

On DOLLA
$3,333/mo
0% creator fee on every follow
On Patreon
$2,250/mo
8–12% + payment processing on the same audience
Annual lift on DOLLA+$13,000/yr

Same audience. Same unit price. The take rate is the difference.

2,250 Monthly followers + 250 Weekly followers = $3,333/mo on DOLLA, paid the day they follow.

On Patreon at 8–12% + payment processing, the same audience nets ~$2,250/mo. The platform takes ~$250/mo of that gross — that's where the Patreon fee shows up.

How the math works

  • DOLLA side: the followers slider splits into a Monthly mix ($1/mo per follower) and a Weekly mix ($1/wk ≈ $4.33/mo per follower) based on the second slider. DOLLA takes 0% on creator transactions, so the gross number is what reaches the wallet.
  • Competitor side: we hold the unit price constant at $1/month per follower for an apples-to-apples compare. In practice many competitors (Substack, Memberful) have higher unit prices ($5–$10/mo) which would make their absolute earnings higher — but their take-rate gap with DOLLA stays the same. The calculator under-states DOLLA's lift, not over-states it.
  • Take-rate sources: fee percentages come from each competitor's public pricing page. Where the fee is a range (e.g. Patreon 8–12%), the calculator uses the midpoint of the typical creator's plan.
  • Fees absorbed: DOLLA absorbs the payment-processor fee on card payments; the displayed take is creator-platform fee only on the competitor side too (Stripe is excluded for both for fairness).
